CorelDRAW Boot Camp Cruise Recap and More

A week has passed since I returned from the inaugural CorelDRAW Boot Camp Cruise and I’m already looking forward to our next cruise in August. Yes, the trip involved some amazing destinations and I won’t try to minimize that at all. I was proud at the high quality learning that took place and all of the wonderful people in the class. Probably the best way to say this is to let one of the student’s speak for me.

"As a screen printer, I have always wanted to be able to produce “photo-realistic” art for printing on apparel. Anyone can paste clipart and add text for a generic print. Now, with Corel Bootcamp under my belt and some screen time, I feel comfortable progressing to that area. CorelDRAW Bootcamp is by far the best training for graphics that I have encountered. I have a variety of training CD’s for Corel and Photoshop. None touch this intense and technical training course. I am very pleased with the material, instructors, and setting for this camp."—Shawn Isley, Apparel Ink

One of the best experiences was getting a guided tour of San Juan, Puerto Rico from Michael Cervantes, a Corel PHOTO-PAINT guru. We saw some incredible architecture, experienced the local culture and visited historical sites. This was all capped off with a dinner Michael arranged for us at his brother’s restaurant. It was definitely the best meal we had on the trip. Thank you Michael for arranging this wonderful day for us.

In between the fun, we had training sessions where everyone learned, myself included. Not only did I learn from Jeff Harrison’s sessions, but also from the students in the class. Training classes like this let all students share some of their best tips along with those of the instructors. We had students from California, Montana, Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Florida, New York and three from Norway.

There is a remarkable amount of materials to review after the course is complete— possibly a whole year's worth of content to enjoy and continue learning after returning to the office. Training locations are carefully considered. You'll learn about CorelDRAW, Corel PHOTO-PAINT and about other incredible software programs at the most amazing locations found anywhere in the world. It exceeds typical training in every way—and becomes the experience of lifetime that you'll cherish forever.

As part of the class, we collected photos taken by everyone and put together a multimedia slide show. Our time and music were very limited on the ship. The first draft of the video can be downloaded from the Web site. Note that the file is 13.5 MB. You’ll have to first unzip it and then play the EXE file it contains.

After Jeff got home from the cruise, he added more pictures, reworked the music and added a number of captions. While the first show was good, Jeff was able to improve on it quite a bit. You can download the more polished version from Jeff’s site. This file is 17.4 MB. Again, you’ll have to unzip it to play the EXE inside of it. For those wanting a smaller download, you can get a lower resolution version that is only 11.8 MB.

Soon after Jeff finished the presentation, we got this note from Sandy Freeman. I can’t say it better than her, so Sandy, take it away.

"Jeff, loved the new presentation; especially the music. Pretty soon after some practice will try one of my own!"

"For anyone considering the Mediterranean cruise, go for it! The trip was a blast, and I really enjoyed every moment of class. There’s so much to know about all the various programs in the Suite that even if you work in Draw or Paint every day there’s always lots of new things to learn, and Foster and Jeff are always dreaming up new things to do with the tools. If I had the money and the vacation time I would do it again in a heartbeat. Jeff and Foster picked the best cruiseline; Norwegian Freestyling Cruise is so much fun and you can’t beat being waited on 24/7. This cruise had the added fillip of meeting Michael Cervantes who is just as wonderful in person as he is online, but I’ll be there’ll be other Corelians ready to meet up with the Mediterranean cruise participants."

"Jeff and Foster are terrific teachers. I feel like I got my money’s worth and more. Don’t hesitate. Sign up now!"

"(Jeff and Foster have not paid for this endorsement, and no animals were harmed when composing this reply)."

Thanks Sandy and you’ll have to watch the movie to understand the part about the animals. What are you waiting for, get yourself registered while there are still spaces remaining!
