Hump Day Hardware: Harman Kardon GLA-55 Loudspeaker System

Some of the hardware I cover is very practical and represents something that every user of graphics software should have. Today is something that would look great on your desk and provide you with entertainment, but it may not be that practical.

As you can see from the picture at left, the Harman Kardon GLA-55 2.0-Powered Loudspeaker System looks fantastic. I've not heard the speakers, but I'm sure they also sound great as Harman Kardon is known for producing quality speakers. So far, so good. Then we get to the price. They list for $999.99. Whew, that's pretty steep. Like I said, today's selection isn't very practical. They just looked so cool I had to write about them!

For a more practically priced set of speakers from Harman Kardon, check out the Soundsticks 2.1 System. They cost a lot less at only $120 and they still look pretty cool. The user reviews give them high praise for sound and looks. No matter which set you choose, you'll have some cool speakers!
