NexusFont Free Font Manager
Corel has supplied Bitstream Font Navigator for many versions now and I've been very happy with it until recently. Very little has been done to it which has created problems for users on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Back in March, I told you about FontExpert 2009 (now 2010) as a potential replacement. It is a fantastic font management tool, but it does have a cost.
Recently I got a note from Eric Weber, one of the top Corel Ventura gurus, and he turned me on to NexusFont. It is not nearly as comprehensive as FontExpert, but it probably does everything most users need. The one thing it will not do is auto-install missing fonts when opening CorelDRAW (or Corel Ventura) files. FontExpert doesn't do that either. It does have one feature that all users love...it is free! So if you are looking to replace Bitstream Font Navigator, you might want to give NexusFont a test drive.

I want to get started with a font manager as I have way too many fonts installed and feel the pain when Windows XP boots. However, I don't know what fonts are required by the operating system or MS Office. Any suggestions on how to get started?
Judy,
The Font Frenzy tool I talked about a couple of months ago can help you get things cleaned up.
Thanks, Foster -- looks like just what I need. After reading your previous comment and the web site info for Font Frenzy, I am going to install and give it a shot.
