Never Too Old to Learn

Last week I shared a story from an e-mail I received that showed that even I can learn something new every day. Soon after it was posted, I got an e-mail from another user I wanted to share.

"I just wanted to share something with you...you're never too old to learn. I am a 77yr.old female... the women/men of my age group say they are too old to learn CorelDraw, wrong! I have used CorelDraw 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, X14, X15. I am self-taught so I haven't really finished learning yet. Your CorelDrawX5 Unleashed Training CD has shown me a lot of little tricks of which I was unaware. I am retired and do various artwork for birthday cards, business cards, flyers, etc. What pleases me most is that my occupation was as a Registered Nurse but my avocation was to be an artist. I am finally succeeding in that venture. Keep the posts coming. They are very helpful."

I also heard more from the user who sent the e-mail I featured last week.

Now you might be wondering about the tip for today. Hopefully you have realized that you are never too old to learn and even the most experienced users can continue to learn new things. I'll throw in something else that might be useful to you. I've seen a lot of users ask why Corel removed the Boundary Effect from CorelDRAW X5. First, it wasn't removed. When I need to use it, I always click the button on the Property Bar when multiple objects are selected. So for me, nothing changed from previous versions to X5. The confusion arises because it was moved in the menus. In CorelDRAW X4, you would select Effects | Create Boundary to invoke the command. For CorelDRAW X5 users, the menu command is Arrange | Shaping | Boundary. Other than the new location in the menus, everything else is exactly the same.
