Spam Filters and Whitelisting

If you ever expect to get e-mail from Unleashed, please take the time to read this post. It will save all of us a lot of time and trouble. We all hate spam. I've written about it before and I'm sure I'll write about it again. The last post I wrote about spam was in March and I encourage each of you to read it again.

Why is this so important to write about it again? Simply because there are so many customer service issues we face every week where customers are not getting e-mail from us. Unleashed sends a fair amount of e-mail daily and that raises our profile and can often provoke false positives from spam filters. Customers get very frustrated when they don't receive an answer from us when in fact we have answered in a timely manner. We can send it, but we have no control over the filters on the other end.
  • If you don't want to receive this blog via e-mail or our newsletter via e-mail, you can press the unsubscribe button and you will be removed. I hope you find it interesting enough to keep receiving it, but I realize it isn't for everyone.
  • Please whitelist us! There are two e-mail addresses to add (shown at right) or you can simply add the whole unleash.com domain. Make sure to whitelist these addresses in everything that filters spam. That could be with your mail provider and any security software you have running on your local computer.
One of the other issues we often see is that someone has entered their e-mail address incorrectly. In some cases, it is very intentional and quite often profane. We respect your inbox and there is no need to enter a bogus address. Other times it is simply a typo. Please look over what you typed before submitting it. It is shocking how often users type their e-mail address wrong.

I also have a huge favor to ask. Before asking a question, please read carefully. If there are common questions, we include them in our FAQ. Every order (free or paid) provides a link to download instructions (for downloadable products). Again, these instructions were written to answer the common questions. Given some of the questions we receive, these instructions are not being read.

For those of you who have whitelisted us and have read the FAQ, sorry to have to repeat it again. We just want to make sure everyone has a great experience and things work much better if these questions can be answered in advance.
