Gear Creation in CorelDRAW, Corel PHOTO-PAINT, 3D Studio Max and More
A group of us sat in the dark in a strip mall in the early 90s. It was time for the monthly CorelDRAW Users Group meeting. Someone raised their hand and asked how to draw a gear. Various members got up and showed the method they would use. This was long before features such as Weld and Trim were added to CorelDRAW. Creating a gear was no easy task! It was such a big deal that we talked about it at length at the next meeting.Luckily it has become easier to create gears in CorelDRAW and power users like Jeff Harrison have documented the process in detail. Jeff will show you exactly how to get a gear with a specific number of teeth and he'll even show you how to make helical gears. If you like, you can even animate your gears in Corel PHOTO-PAINT!
Along with instruction, Jeff provides 20 pre-made gears ranging from 14 through 33 teeth as well as some helical gears. All of this and more is contained in his Gear We Go tutorial. Even if you don't have an immediate need for making gears, this tutorial will teach you a lot of valuable information.
