Removing the Darned White Box

One of the most common tasks in image editing is removing the "white box". In situations where the background is a solid color, the task can be accomplished in less than a minute. We've got three free tutorials on the site that show you the process.

Things get more complicated when the background is not a solid color and it can take a considerable amount of time even in the hands of a skilled digital artist to properly cut something out. Each image editor has a few differences in how it works, but the key is mastering the use of the selection or masking tools.
